21/09/1970: Culture motifs in memorial hall
A six- member cultural committee appointed by the government is considering how motifs in keeping with Ceylon’s culture could be incorporated in the Bandaranaike Commemoration hall to be built at the Golf Links.
The committee headed by the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry Of Cultural Affaires Mr. Nissanka Wijeyratne and the Ven.Mapalagama Vipulasara Thero, president of the jathika Kala Peramuna met early this week and examined the plans drawn by the Chinese architects for the proposed hall.

The committee was assisted by two architects from the Ministry of Housing and construction. It will base its proposals on the plans already prepared.

A final decision will be taken by the committee in the first week of October.
